  TJB-INC Installation Tips:

As you design a landscape, be aware of the following basic lighting design principles.

• 1.  Avoid overlighting which can produce glare and limit visibility.
•  
• 2.  Use primarily one type of light source (Halgen, LED, Sodium) as they have different subtle color differences and can clash if not used correctly.

3.  Use light to show what's important in a landscape like objects, architectural details and traffic patterns.

4.  Conceal the source of the light to enhance the effect rather than the fixture itself.

5.  Use a combination of various lighting techniques to create a more interesting setting.  These include: Moonlighting, Silhouetting, Shadowing, Spotlighting, & Security Lighting.

6.  Decide how many lighting fixtures you will need to propertly illuminate the area or object before you start your installation.

7.  Decide what type of lighting system would be the best for your particular application.  Whether that be 120 Volt/Line Voltage System or a 12 Volt Low-Voltage System.

8.  Decide which mounting arrangement and fixtures you will need.  The power distribution system (transformer) you choose, where you place the fixtures and the effect you wish to create will all determine the appropriate mounting and fixtures you will need.
