Blade Use:

Inside
sharpened for sandy soil.

Outside
sharpened for heavier soil
NOTE:
If you
have high sand content greens, taking a plug in one cut is much
easier with an outside-sharpened scalloped shell. It cuts
with less effort, compacts better and holds the entire plug.
And the outside edge is easier to sharpen. For heavier soils,
requiring two cuts or more, any shell combination will
work.
