Replacement AquaSurge Volute
If you have had the misfortune of breaking the threaded output
on your AquaSurge pump and do not know what to do? Don't panic!
There is a simple inexpensive solution so you will not have
to purchase a new replacement pump. The part that broke is
called a Volute. Just find out which pump model you have and
order the correct replacement volute above.
How to replace the
volute
Unplug your pump & disconnect the check valve assembly.
Move the pump to a dry location so you can work on it.
Turn the pump on it's side so you can see the (2) screws
under the handle on the pump's outer casing. Using a Phillips
Screwdriver, you will need to remove these (2) screws. Then
on the bottom feet of the pump there are (2) rubber boots/shoes.
Remove these by stretching the rubber up and over the pump
foot. Now there will be (2) more screws to remove that hold
the feet together. After all (4) screws have been removed,
separate the (2) halves of the pump's outer casing.
On the front (intake side) of the pump, there is a rounded
plastic filter screen that you take off by just giving it a pull.
Now you will now see (4 or 5) screws that secure the pump's
volute. Remove these screws and take off the broken volute.
Replace with the new volute and reattach the mounting screws.
Snap on the filter screen (do not worry, it only goes on one
way). You are now ready to reinstall the 2 outer cover
halves. Just line out the 2 pieces so the screw holes line
up. Screw in the (4) mounting screws. Reattach the (2)
rubber boots back on to the pump feet and you are all done!
Good Job! Now reinstall the check valve assembly and put
the pump back into the pond. Attach the check valve to your
waterfall pipe and plug the pump's electrical cord back into the
power outlet.
Sit back and enjoy the sounds of a working waterfall pump that
you repaired all by yourself!
