<p><p><strong><font size="4">Inground lighting</font></strong> or well lighting is installed below grade or well lighting is installed below grade or underground and is used when you want to conceal the light source. This type of fixture is especially effective for lighting an object that is seen from any direction because it restricts glare on all sides. Inground lighting is also used for uplighting trees, shrubs, walls and signs. Locating fixtures inground also creates a clean, uncluttered daytime landscape and works well with low ground cover. Inground fixtures are also used to produce specific uplighting techniques.</p>

<p><font color="#000000"> Silhouetting is created when the shadow of a distinctive plant or object is seen against a wall or other vertical surface that is lit from below. The light source should be concealed in the ground or placed directly behind the object being silhouetted. This creates a dramatic effect when silhoutting plants with unusally shaped leaves or branches.</font></p>

<p><font color="#000000"> Shadowing is similar to silhouetting. To create shadowing, the shadow of the plant is projected on the wall or vertical surface being lit from the front. This effect can be even more dramatic than silhouetting because the shadow of the object is often greatly magnified.</font></p>

<p><font color="#000000"> Perspective lighting is frequently used to make a smaller landscape larger than it actually is. THis lighting techique emphasizes a line of sight like a corridor through plants, a long narrow patio or a natural view through a grove of trees. Dramatic results can be achieved dy dimly lighting the forground, with a row of dim in-ground lighting along the line of sight and brightly lighting the focal point at the end of the sight line. Perspective lighting tricks the viewers eye into thinking the end of the landscape is at some distance.</font></p>
