Filtration is one of the most important elements of your system.  The filter not only removes debris but, more importantly, your filter converts toxic substances into harmless ones. A good system is of key importance in keeping your water crystal-clear and free of chemical pollutants.  Our filter line is designed to meet a wide range of needs, for both large and small ponds.  Biological Filter - biological is the most important.  This process removes toxins.  Biological Filter Systems:  Biological filtration is where your system provides a place for beneficial bacteria to grow on special media.  The system focuses the growth of bacteria.  These bacteria  remove harmful pollutants,through a  natural process, from pond water.  Known as the " Bio Filtration " or " bio reactors " these beneficial bacteria convert poisonous compounds such as ammonia and nitrite, into less toxic nitrate.  The end by-product, nitrate, is used as a food source by aquatic plants.  This continuous process is called the nitrogen cycle.  This type may be the most important filtration process in a system containing koi or goldfish. TJB-INC has put together a list of all of the replaceable products for the Classic Series BIOFALLS Filters including the MicroFalls, Mini BIOFALLS, Standard BIOFALLS, and the Grande BIOFALLS Filters.  The main photo will change as you select the different items from the box above. Media Nets  - These are just nylon laundry bags.  We have found them to last 5-7 years.  (Note: These nets are multi purpose as well. I sent my son to college with 3 clean nets to carry his dirty laundry to the laundry mat and they lasted all 4 years.  Granted he only did laundry when the clothes really stank, but the bags held up to the environment very well!) Simulated Waterfall Stones * - If you choose to make a sheet waterfall using these faux rock, they should last forever.  But if one goes missing on you, we carry the replacements. * NOTE:  The Grande simulated waterfall stone is a very large item and have to ship UPS Oversized and have its shipping weight priced for "Dimentional Weight".
