Jr Alligator looks very real
From Debra Priebe of Shakopee, Minnesota on .
I purchased this and put it into my garden pond immediately. A little while later a neighbor stopped by to chat, caught a glimpse of Jr in the pond and took off running with her dog. She thought it was real. After running a short distance she stopped and started laughing, remembering we don't have alligators in Minnesota! It is awesome! Thanks again.
Great Decoy!
From Ron S. of Alpharetta, Georgia on .
this is the second jr. alligator decoy i've bought. looks very real, in fact a neighbor said he almost shot it!
seems to have kept the great blue herons away from my koi pond.
thanks.

Looks pretty authentic. Eyes are decals however.
Highly Recommended !!
From Senoia McGreggor of Clopton, Alabama on .
Thank you for sending so quickly. My husband is tickled with it, and our grand kids will love seeing an Alligator floating around in the pond as it also keeps away the birds that like to eat our little fish.
WE are very pleased with it.

Very Realistic
From Keith McKinney of Sugar Valley, Georgia on .
I almost jumped when I opened the box this thing looks so real. I haven't had a chance to get it in the pond yet but I think it's going to do the trick.

No Blue herons since I put this Gator in my pond . Awesome
Fun
From Dr. Z of Seattle, Washington on .
I placed the alligator in my large pond and my kids love it. Very cool looking and realistic especially from 30 feet away. I wish it did not have red eyes. That part is pretty unrealistic and is a dead giveaway for anyone over 6 years old. It is purely for fun though. It did not slow the blue heron, eagles or osprey down at all.
Keeps the Blue Herons Away!
From Dawn K. Andrus of San Fransico, California on .
We lost all our Koi fish to a predatory Blue Heron. We heard that using an alligator head in the Koi pond would scare the bird away. It works!! We bought it and installed it before we bought any more fish. Now our fish are safe!
22" Alligator Head Decoy
From Joseph V. Rubin "jvr34" of Winston-Salem, North Carolina on .
We wanted this as a pool toy. It floats around our pool. It looks very real & our friends think it looks great. It's also unique to see such a real looking alligator enjoying our pool.
Fun addition to our pond
From Alexandra of Bay Area, California on .
We purchased this for our large koi pond because I had seen a great blue heron in our neighborhood. Our pond is fairly well hidden by redwood trees so I don't know if the heron even knew it was there, but I thought this alligator head could be a fun deterrent. I have know idea if it works as a deterrent, but a month later we still have all of our fish.
Whether or not it is a deterrent, we have enjoyed having it in our pond. It's a fun conversation piece when friends come over. Our kids have named it and treat it as a kind of pet (very low maintenance!). And when my mother-in-law visited, she thought it was a real alligator! (Yes, it does look realistic, but I think this speaks more about my mother-in-law. I mean, come on - we live in California!)
We've only had it a month, but the head is still in good condition. The eyes are very reflective. I would absolutely recommend this if you want a fun, realistic alligator head to decorate your pond, pool, garden, or anywhere else you think an alligator head might be appropriate.
Boaters Alarmed
From Robert L Purnell of Houston, Texas on .
I originally purchased two of the 22" heads. I placed one under my dock and one near my dock so that boaters, skiers & wakeboarders could see the heads when they drove by. I live in an area densely populated with alligators - just not my immediate area because of boat traffic. Very realistic and very entertaining. I've also purchased two other models. As a side note, the herons have stopped landing on my dock.
perfect decoy for mallards
From B. Danial of Not Listed, North Dakota on .
I purchased the 22" alligator head decoy because of mallards coming to our pool.
This has been happening for months and in the beginning it was cute; but we didn't know about the guana(poop they left behind)
The same 2 ducks came every day at all hours. We have an 8 ft. high fence but they just flew in and flew out.
Our dog thought they belonged here so didn't chase them.
Since purchasing the gator head, our pool is ours again.
This truly is phenomenol.
You may want to sell direct to pool supply stores as they have nothing.
Thanks for a product that actually works!
Realistic!
From AMM "AMM" of Dallas, Texas on .
My son loves this! I purchased it to scare off herons from my Koi pond. It seems to be doing the trick so far - we've had it about 2 weeks and I haven't noticed any herons. My son enjoys it as well. It is very menacing looking - and comical in a Koi pond! Seems to be doing what I needed it to do!
Gator head is a winner!
From Romeena of Not Given, California on .
I have a small backyard pond, with about fifteen pretty fish in it. Some are goldfish, and some are koi. A great egret has found it, and was visiting several times a week. After losing three large and beautiful fish to that wretched bird, I was looking for something to deter him, and I found it with the 'gator head. It looks very realistic, is light enough that it moves with the slightest breeze, and the eyes reflect. It has startled many human visitors. I haven't seen the bird since I put the 'gator head in there, so I don't know how he reacted, but I do know this. I haven't lost any more fish!!
Alligator Decoy
From Northern Vermont of Burlington, Vermont on .
I would definitely recommend this item-
Priced right and it adds a totally new dimension to our pond in Northern Vermont. Great piece for all to talk about and enjoy.
As to it's effectiveness as a decoy scaring away the large blue heron- hard to say, but I like it regardless and thinks its quite realistic looking.
One minor issue- the anchoring clip came free and so I will need to replace it.
When we first placed it in the pond our 2 year old boxer couldn't stop barking at it- so it convinced him!
Got rid of the annoying geese!!
From Lisa C of Not Given, California on .
I highly recommend using this aligator head to get rid of geese. I had a huge problem with lots of geese making a mess on the manicured grounds of our function facility and restaurant. We were at the point that dogs were only a temporary fix and the geese were annoying guests and pooping everywhere. The aligator has been floating around in our pond for about 45 days now, and we haven't seen a goose since. At first I was afraid it would blow away in the wind or get tangled in the pond weeds, but it is pretty sturdy. We don't have the menacing geese and that was our goal. Great invention!!!
love the gator head!
From tbolt of Not Listed, California on .
This thing looks real. Haven't seen the heron since I got it, but whether it works or not, I like it because of the level of detail. Makes the other decoys look like a joke! And the fish like to push it around the pond-- it's hilarious and cute. It has a hook on the bottom to anchor it but I like it to drift around the pond with the waterfall current. Very lightweight. It's scared a few of our friends, too. Seriously, this thing is awesome!
Crocky
From The Green Phantasm of Not Given, California on .
A small crocodile head now reposes in our 35-foot koi pond, drifting several feet upstream from a fake blue heron. Neither is facing the other. The croc's head is placed so that its body seems to be hidden under lily pads. To me, 'cept for the red eyes (which may be effective--who knows?) it's a pretty realistic-looking imitation. It's lightweight and probably easily damaged, but floating there in the pond looks safe enough from harm.
Even if it was a tad pricy, I've come to like it. Since putting it into the water three weeks ago, my wife and I haven't seen a blue heron or egret land near the pond--though we have seen them flying overhead. Admittedly, it's a bit early to judge, but I'm inferring (or at least hoping!) that at least for now, either the croc or the heron (which is far less realistic)--or both together--may just be the cause of the predator birds' staying away. Oh, I do move the croc & heron occasionally.
We should gain more certainty about their effectiveness after a few months. Meanwhile, we're all keeping our fins crossed! Pax, fishies. . .
Realistic gator!
From Heather of Not Given, California on .
My father asked for this for father's day for his pond. He absolutely loves it. He cant believe how realistic it looks. Now all his fish are safe and he couldn't be happier.
22" Floating Alligator Head
From A. Williams of Not Given, Oklahoma on .
When I received this product, I was quite impressed with its realistic appearance, except for the red eyes. I understand the purpose of these reflective red eyes, but in my opinion, they take away from an otherwise outstanding sculpture, making it obvious that is is fake. Before placing this in my pond, I painted over the red with a more realistic color. I am now quite pleased with its appearance. It has impressed my guests and actually startled some who were surprised by its presence. This is a fine product. I just wish that a version with more realistic eyes would be offered. Also, I suggest that a three piece version (head, middle, tail)with all pieces sculpted to the head's specifications would be a big seller.
Wow
From Tim Nikkin of Fork LAke, Tennessee on .
Great product. We have it near our dock, partly to keep swallows away but also just to amuse our friends and neighbors. It works well on all counts! We got a great photo of a turtle sunning on the top of its head, too. We used to have a non poisonous northern water snake by our shoreline, but it has relocated :-)

From Florida Summer of Orlando, Florida on .
We had a big problem Raccoon using our pool as water closed.
I now have 3 gators in our pool keeping eyes on Raccoon.
Great Product
From Patrick of Not Listed, Arizona on .
This decoy is amazing for keeping raccoons out of my pool, I recommended it to a friend that had the same problem of raccoons using it as a bathing and toilet facility. My problems stopped the day I put the decoy out 6 months ago and I have not had a problem since, my friend claims it worked for him as well. I was emailed and asked to write a review, no big deal, only takes a few minutes, right? This product worked so well for me I stopped and took a few minutes to share my experience.
Like it a LOT
From Terry C. Brothers "Terry" of Virginia Beach, Virginia on .
I was skeptical but not any more. This alligator looks real! It really does. And what's really cool is the eyes glow red at night. Not a phony glow, but a realistic glow.
Also - the product shipped fast, was packaged well, and is well made.
I not only recommend it but will probably buy a second one for my pond.
Perfect addition!
From Lois47 of Lincoln, Nebraska on .
I bought this for my son and his wife and I placed it in the pond without his knowledge. It took a few days before he noticed it but was all excited as he thought there was an alligator in the pond. We have had so much fun with it and it was well worth the money. He was ready to call the fish and game to come trap it before he realized we had fooled him. He has had a lot of fun with his neighbors also and everyone who sees it at first glance think it is an alligator. Very lifelike.
Awesome alligator head
From GP Guy of Not Given, Louisiana on .
I have a goldfish pond and after a couple of scares when half my fish hid from me for two days, I decided to be pro-active and discourage any blue herons that might spot my pond and want to check it out, so I bought one of these heads. It is quite realistic and adds a nice touch to the pond with its "body" hiding under the water lilies and its red eyes scanning the horizon. I have every expectation that it will keep my fish safe from being munched.
Pond Alligator
From Kathy of WICHITA, Kansas on .
We love our "toothless". Since putting him in our pond we have not seen one Heron. Last year a large white heron ate 3 of our fish. This year they have not even been in the yard. My grandson thought he was real and we had a blast introducing him to Toothless. The fish aren't bothered a bit by him and he floats in the lily pads and does his job. The sculptor did a great job you can't tell he isn't real.
22" Alligator Head Decoy
From Dolly Neumann of ENUMCLAW, Washington on .
I got this to frighten off a heron that was munching on my koi. It did frighten off a neighbor who thought it was real! This alone didn't do the trick with the heron, but like it anyway. It is very realistic and provides another little area of shade for the fish. The only thing that has worked for the heron is an electric fence....
Also Good For Raccons
From Daniel J. Cole of Coral Springs, Florida on .
Most of the posts are about scarring ducks away, but I use it to keep racoons out of the pool. I live in South Florida, where racoons are common. Apparently racoons like to wash their food before eating (which is funny considering they just took it out of the garbage). The steps of my pool are a great place to wash food. They also tend to eat the food right where the wash it. In addition, racoons must have a very fast digestive system, as they also crap when they eat. You guessed it, racoon crap on my pool steps. I have a full size, realistic, alligator that sits on the pool deck, but unless I move it every couple of days; the racoons fiqure out the gator is no threat. This floating decoy seems to do the trick. Since it moves (floats) in the dark water (racoons are nocternal), while the eyes reflect lights from house; racoons seem to avoid it. I know the racoons are still visiting the area (I see the small little clues left), but they seem to avoid the pool. Great little tool. You should consider selling on "Pest Control" sites. I stumbled on this after lots of searching. If pest control site had this as a racoon solution, these would sell more.
Alligator Decoy
From Kitten21 of Not Given, Michigan on .
This decoy is very realistic looking but it hasn't scared anything yet! My frogs sit on it! I guess in MI, the birds and such do not know what an alligator is! It is in my small pond and the kids have gotten a kick out of it. If you live in states that do not have alligators, I would say it is more for a good laugh!
Alligator in pool
From Diane Vigilante of Hanover, New Hampshire on .
I bought this as a surprise for my daughter's pool. They found it when they went out to swim! It brings lots of laughs, a few worries about whether visiting humming birds would stay away. But they came back. The dog tries to bite it now and then. It has just become a family fun gator.
Excellent Product
From Anthony J. Ali of woodbridge, Connecticut on .
i used to buy the $70.00 alligator head for my pond 2 times a year but the solar eyes went out and it was bulky.
this is better priced and lightweight and realistic and does the job.
it works in deterring predators in your pond and is lifelike and the eyes are red.
i highly reccomend this product and it should be used in every pond and it looks awesome.
Alligator Head
From No Herons of Westfield, Massachusetts on .
This alligator head is so real looking, it totally spooked my neighbor, my daughter, my cats AND the big blue heron. The heron flew down, saw it, turned around and went up on the wood duck box craning its neck down to check out the alligator. It hasn't been back since. GREAT product!
Decoy
From Liz B of Houston, Texas on .
The alligator head does it's job very well..since it's been in our pool the ducks have stayed away..I think the eyes have it!!
Too Much Fun!
From Adie L. of Not Listed, North Carolina on .
I love this product. My son mows down the hill toward the big pond on a zero-turn, and when he saw the alligator looking up at him he put the brakes on so hard he thought he was going to fall off. He immediately realized it couldn't be real and started laughing. It's hard to get a good one over on him, so it made my day. Almost forgot - my little grandson named him Tick Tock after the one that got Captain Hook!
Did its job!
From BFI66 "BFI66" of dalton, Georgia on .
Purchased this last March to rid myself of a Great Blue Heron that was raiding my Koi pond last year. Prior years I used a Heron decoy which had little or no effect. This guy looks very realistic and so far this season I have had no sightings of any predators. My neighbor's pond has already been raided, so I know that pesky ol'Heron is around. I also noticed my dog is very hesitant to visit the pond this year, when in the past I had to shoo her away because she would sometimes try to drink the pond water.
So far I am very happy with this purchase since it has accomplished what I bought it for!
Very real looking Alligator Head
From Cindy L Campbell of Not Given, California on .
I purchased the alligator head a few months back- during duck season. I think I should have ordered the full sized one for a true deterrent against ducks. Of course, I live in California- so the ducks in my area probably laughed at my feeble efforts to keep them out of the pool.
BUT I love the head and it remains a floater going through the current when my pool filter is on.
Great Alligator
From DKW of Seattle, Washington on .
Realistic looking alligator.. especially the eyes. My grandkids told their preschool teacher that Gma has a real alligator in her pond!! Worth the $. Lots of fun....
Works Great Dag Hates It
From John Q of Clinton, Connecticut on .
We have a pond in the back yard and ducks hang out alll the time. We got a new pup I taught him to "get the ducks" he had a great time doing that. Problem we get up at 0500 and he wants out first thing to go "you know" then he barks at the ducks. Neighbors don't like it. Wife buys aligator we put it in the pond no more ducks. My poor dog hates the alligator. It floated away the other day and we found it at the neighbor's house but we had ducks for a few days. Sure made the dog happy let me know it works.
Scary eyes to the trick
From Lew Hileman "Ancient Gamer" of San Diego, California on .
I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND CLOSE TO THE HERONS THAT FLY THEIR ROUTES OVER MY HOUSE. I AM A KOI ENTHUSIUST AND HAD LOST SOME FISH TO THIS HERON. I HAD ORDERED SOME HERON DECOYS AND THEY DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL AFTER THE ALIGATOR HEAD BUT AS IT TURNED OUT, THE RED EYES GLOWING IN THE SUN AND THE MOVEMENT CAUSED BY MY PUMP RETURN CURRENT SCARED THEM ALL AWAY. NO PROBLEM SINCE. GREAT PRODUCT.
crane guard
From MRMAC of Not Listed, California on .
When we first opened the box.. i was amazed at how light the product was. At first i thought the paint job was not very realistic.. but once you put it in the water, all the detail comes out and it looks very real in our pond. I am not sure how the eyes are reflective because it looks like they are painted... but at dusk they show up good. If our pond was bigger.. i would get another one.
Looks Great. Blue Heron Loves It Too
From G. Anderson "GT" of San Jose, California on .
Great Item. Looks terrific. Quickly shipped. Nice attachment on bottom for an anchor (chain worked for me). Only one minor problem: the Blue Heron I'm trying to keep from eating my pond fish isn't the least bit deterred by the 'gator. Maybe the Blue Heron decoy I ordered will work, I hope.
Realistic Appearance
From Jones of Not Given, District of Columbia on .
Great item. Very realistic in appearance. I put mine in our pond and it looks amazing. Really cool and a great value for the price.
Alligator Head Decoy,
From Bosoxgent of Not Given, Arkansas on .
This Decoy is everthing I wanted. A Great Blue Heron thought my Koi Pond was his personal Sushi Bar, but since I bought the Decoy Alligator Head, the Heron hasn't visited us at all! It's a great product, and I don't have to move it every day, because it's so lightweight, any current or breeze moves it naturally. I love it.

Alligator Head (see note from ShopTJB)
From Anonymous of Kiawah Island, South Carolina on .
Bought the 22" alligator head in hopes that it would discourage a raccoon from visiting our pool night. It didn't work as advertised. The painted eyes don't reflect at night. Disappointing and a waste of money.
Note From ShopTJB: Hi Susan, sorry to here your raccoon was not scared away. Make sure you move the alligator head daily so predators don't think it is just a decoy. If any decoy is left in the same location day after day, it is destined for failure. Another factor may be that the raccoon has never seen a real alligator so it did not know to be afraid. Raccoons are very smart and crafty creatures. You would be better using a wildlife trap instead of a decoy if you want to get rid of the raccoon. As far as the reflective eyes, I have contacted the manufacturer to see if they changed the paint formulation.
