8" Duckbill Napping Shears

An indispensable tool for your spotting kit is a pair of professional duckbill shears which allow you to not only remove irreversibly stained or damaged fiber tips but also to break up hardened tar and chewing gum for easier removal.

• These shears feature offset handles, which makes level nap trimming easy.
• Shears are made from hot forged special Solingen cutlery steel with a special duckbill blade for precise cuts.
• Salt bath hardened
• Nickel plated and polished
• The handles also have a red vinyl coating for comfort.
• The shears have large finger loops contoured for thumb and forefinger/middle finger use to allow greater control when cutting.
• Overall length is 8" with a 2" length cut.

TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

We use these Duckbill shears for several different purposes in our installations.

1. Use for detailed trimming along the seam cut for cleaning rough or missed edges left by the Carpet Knife (See Photo #1 below)
2.  Trim stray loose fibers that stick up above the nap height of your turf (See Photo #2 below)
3. Create a perfect 90 degree or beveled edge around the cup hole (See Photo #3 below)
4. Cut out any unwanted glue deposits or drips
5. Trimming edges around unusual shapes like rocks, timbers or trees
