Aquascape Natural Pond Tint is a completely non toxic dye with added humic and tanic acids derived from natural organic compounds found in nature.

These compounds will safely help keep pond water clean, clear and cool.

Ideal for use in the spring, when pond plants have not started growing and shading water from sunlight or in the summer, when water temperatures start to rise. Also helps reduce fish stress in spring when fish have no place to hide from the sun and predators

For smaller ponds, use at the rate of 1 pump per 100 gal./378 liters of water.

The dye can last from 4 months down to 1 week depending on rainfall, water flow through the pond (or retention time of the pond) and the desired shading you want to keep. On an average: 4-6 weeks. We have local retention ponds that require a boost every 2 weeks throughout the season. Usually it is the smaller ponds that have the potential of rainfall and watershed diluting the dye quickly. Just add more dye to get the desired shading back. Adding more dye throughout the season will keep your pond looking great.

Calculations for Water Volume of Ponds , Streams & Waterfalls

Pond Water Volume

(Length x Width x Average Depth) x 7.48 = Water Volume of Pond in gallons

1 cubic ft. = 7.48 gallons of water

Example: Pond Measures: 11’L x16’W x 2’AD

(11'L x 16'W x 2'AD) x 7.48 = 2,634 Gallons of water

(The addition of rocks and gravel will lessen the actual water volume beacuse of displacement)

Water Volume in a Stream

(Length x Width x Depth) x 7.78 = Water Volume of Stream in Gallons

Example: Stream Measures: 15'L x 3'W x 2"D

First Calculate Depth in feet not inches: 1" = 0.12' so ... 2"D = 0.24'D

(15'L x 3"W x 0.24'D) x 7.48 = 81 Gallons of Water

Water Volume in Waterfalls = Same as Streams

Our Pond Dyes turn your pond an alluring shade of blue to help prevent photosynthesis from occurring with in the pond. This will help keep algae from forming, provide safety for fish from predators and will help keep water cool in the hot summer days. Blue Pond Tint is a mild dye and will not be an “overpowering” dye that you will not be able to see your fish. It is designed to act more like car window tint and not a complete cover. Black DyeMond is formulated to give your pond a long lasting natural blue color. One quart of our super concentrate will treat one surface acre of water 4' to 6' deep. with the color black. It is formulated to impart an attractive black coloring to natural and man-made ponds, water hazards, lakes and fountains. It reduces sunlight penetration, therefore reducing the growth of ugly algae.

It is important to never let the black fade for this will give weeds and algae a chance to become established making them difficult to control. In colder climates Black DyeMond should be added just before winter to stop sunlight from penetrating the ice.
