Floating Rock Flower Beds
Over the years, numerous products have been invented for hydroponics and floats to display our plants. Generally the hydroponic rafts are designed to keep the plants out of water while encouraging the roots to extend into the body of water below. Unfortunately, display floats have lacked the ability to ensure that the plants are not overwatered or to ensure that the associated potting soil does not become water logged causing root rot and plant death.
Our Floating Rock Flower Bed units have solved this problem!
This one piece molded container (Patent # US 7320197) requires no maintenance or assembly. The Floating Rock Flower Bed is composed of a buoyant body with recessed planting pockets. The buoyant body has a water contact portion and an atmospheric contact portion which allow the plant to keep moist but not wet.
No additional hand watering is necessary because the plant containers are set on an angle 1/2 inch below the water line, allowing water to enter and drain, which keeps the soil moist, but not wet. The air pocket under the planter allows the soil to breath so root-rot fungus is not a problem for your plants.
You can plant any type of annuals, perennials, vegetables or water plants that come in a 6" pot. The plant will self-water, and if they are placed in a pond with fish, will be self-feeding. The roots will absorb nutrients from the pond water for growth and will help keep your water clearer.

If you place the Floating Rock Flower Bed in a swimming pool, you will have to add plant fertilizer every month or so for good growth & flower production. TJB-INC recommends using Aquascape's EcoTabs (sold on this site).
