We use a simple handheld knife sharpener that is available at most home centers & hardware store to keep the blade sharp. This will save you money by not having to purchase replacement blades. The handheld sharpener costs less than $10.00. A couple of swipes over the cutting edge is all that is needed to keep the cutter sharp.

2/26/2009 – WHAT IS THE MAX SIZE OD OF TUBING THIS WILL CUT?

Response From TJB-INC: Hi James,tjank you for the question. We use these cutters for 1.5" & 2" flexible PVC in our installation crew. We have cut 3" Flexible PVC but for that size I prefer a PVC Pipe saw. It is just easier to handle. As far as rigid PVC pipe, if the blade is sharp, it will cut up to 2" but the cutter is mainly for flexible PVC. ... TED
