10/19/2012 – Is a stimpmeter a handheld device? (As opposed to a static device with a standard sloping angle that will produce more accurate results)?
Response From TJB-INC: This is a handheld device that can fit into a golf bag. Because the ball is released at the same point where gravity overcomes friction, the results are very accurate. This product is used worldwide to provide stimp readings for published green speeds.
12/13/2009 – Do you know what the stimp speed is for a average amature Colorado course?
Response From TJB-INC: Anywhere from 7 - 9 with 9 being very fast greens.
7/15/2009 – What makes this an "official" Stimpmeter? How does it differ from what the USGA uses? Is it the exact same one that the USGA uses? If not, how is it different? Thanks.
Response From TJB-INC: this is the aluminum version (it is also made in plastic but we do not sell it)that is used to gauge green speed. It is the same one used on golf greens to rate green speed around the world.
