Single Door Rigid XL Fish Live Trap

Extra Large Fish Trap, Model 406, is a heavy duty repeating fish trap that measures 15" x 15" x 42". It has one large trap door located at the front of the trap and a convenient release door located at the back of the trap for easy access to the fish. The special 5" circular funnel design of the extremely large trap door directs the fish into the trap as they swim upstream. Fish keep swimming in, but they can't swim out.

Also manufactured is a special pair of wings that can easily be added to the front entrance of the trap. The wings act as an extremely large funnel system the reaches out 42" on each side. This greatly increases the number of fish funneled into the trap. A pair of wings can easily be installed on location.

FISH TRAPPING TIPS
Fish Traps should be placed in the water with the entrance of the trap facing downstream. As the fish swim upstream, the special funnel design of the trap doors directs the fish to swim into the trap. They are trapped before they know it. In some fast running streams, it may be necessary to weigh the trap down with one or two rocks. It is also helpful to attach a line from the trap to a buoy or to anything secure on the shore. Fish traps can be baited, but it is not necessary. A can of smelling cat food with holes punched into it works nicely

9/29/2011 – Is there any option to enlarge the opening for larger fish. I am trying to thin my pond out of bream. I need a bit larger opening what options?

Response From TJB-INC: You can spread the “fingers” at the opening wider for a larger fish. Assuming they can get into the first opening of 5x5” square.

11/4/2010 – need instructions on how to attach wings to trap

Response From TJB-INC: Let's see if I can explain it - one of the guys just showed me how.

The wings hook onto the front of the trap (where the funnel is). Take a wing on the end that has a little bend, face the bend out. Slide the bent corner on this wing into the mesh of the trap - the very first square and slide the rod into the little area where the mesh and the bent corner form a "hole" from the top to bottom so it won't slide out.
