Indoor/Outdoor Water-Resistant Adhesive For Synthetic Turf

A solvent free, high solids, premium adhesive that is perfect to use indoors or outdoors in place of solvent based adhesives. Excellent for basements or indoors around swimming pools, jacuzzis and spas. Use for the installation of exterior grade indoor/outdoor carpets that are rubber backed, needle punched, urethane backed, latex unitary, marineback, artificial turf and polypropylene secondary backed carpets.

TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

Condition the area to be installed. Make sure adhesive and surfaces are at 45°F (7°C) or above for 48 hours before, during and 48 hours after installation. Surfaces must be sound, smooth, dry, clean and free of excessive moisture or alkali. Remove dirt, wax, loose paint and all other foreign matter that would interfere with a good bond such as curing agents and sealers. If using seam tape/binder material, make sure it is free of debris before applying the adhesive.

Stir any liquid on the surface into the adhesive.
Full spread adhesive using recommended 1/8" trowel
NOTE: Recommended trowel sizes are guidelines only, and are minimum requirements. Rough, porous concrete and heavily textured carpet backings may require deeper notches. A 100% transfer of adhesive into the carpet backing, while maintaining full coverage of the substrate, must be obtained.
Install carpet into wet adhesive. Do not let adhesive skin over.
Within 30 minutes, cut, fit and reposition as recommended by the carpet manufacturer. Lift a newly laid area occasionally to make sure adhesive is transferring to back.
Smooth the bonded area with firm pressure using a 2-foot length of carpet tube. It is essential to use a light roller for polypropylene-backed carpets. Avoid squeezing adhesive up at the seams. Remove any ozzing wet adhesive with a clean, white cloth dampened with soapy water. Do not allow this unwanted adhesive to dry because it is yellow/orange in color and your seams will not look good!

5/13/2009 – When using your seam tape do we use the same adhesive as if gluing direct? Also should the seams be rolled with a 100# roller? How should the adhesive be app[lied to the seam tape such as nap roller, brush or troweled on? if troweled , what is the correct trowel size and if rolled should it just be an adhesive nap roller or what size nap #10? Do you have installation instructions, also using these products. What is correct adhesive for using your seam tape?

Response From TJB-INC: Yes, the adhesive would be the same. I always use a notched trowel with 1/8" notches. I have never used a nap roller so I can not answer that portion of your question.

You can also use a gluebox for larger applications.
