does the job
From Dan Johnson of Cisco, Georgia on .
I purchased this trap to alleviate a snapping turtle problem in my 3 acre pond. Caught 3 snappers in the first six days, plus one nice sized slider. Trap is easily set up, light and the trap setting is light enough to trip easily without being so light that it trips as you place it in the pond.
I do have the following recommendations:
1. put the instructions packet in the box! don't make me read that online. Considering the price for this, step up and provide the full instructions.
2. For users, I would recommend getting the biggest trap. I got the smaller one and there are snappers that are small enough to still fit in the trap, but large enough to stretch that neck out and take the bait without going in far enough to trip.
Well built

This is a very well built trap. Had the turtle in the trap in less than 24 hrs.The bait door is a very nice option.

Trap is simple and works great. Also easy to transport trapped turtle to release in the Mississipi River

trurtle trap (See note from ShopTJB)
From Wade Brubacher of North Newton, Kansas on .
The 40 lb. trap I purchased does not function properly because the latch hook that attaches to the brass roller is not right and causes the trap to spring prematurely. Can you help me? the 100 lb. tpap works ok. Call me if you want a satisfied customer. 316-772-0907. Wade Brubacher.
NOTE FROM TJB: Sorry to here there is a problem. We will ship a replacement latch assembly right out to you so you can get the trap to work correctly.

Having seen two large snapping turtles and our grass carp getting gone, we knew we needed to relocate sone turtles. Placed trap, baited, and 2 hours later we had captured both at one time.(a 30 and a 25 pounder. I don't see how it could get any easier or quicker!
It works

Look no farther, this is the BEST turtle trap ever. Easy to set up, very well made. Basically can't get ANY better! Fast shipping, so you can be on your way to catching your turtles. :)
I do recommend this trap and this company to do your business with. Definitely the best! Thanks again. P.S. I also loved the pics of the turtles and the one for the zoo. Great sense of humor. Yup, I looked at the finger pic... lol
needs design work
From Jerry D. Rystrom of Stromsburg, Nebraska on .
the trap is 40 inches long and has no access to the back of the trap for installing a bait bag. there needs to be an access door for easier installation of bait. currently i have to thread a wire or string through the trap. in order to attach a bait bag and pull it to the back of the trap. other than that i've had good success with the trap.
NOTE FROM SHOPTJB: Great idea. I have passed your suggestion off to the manufacturer.
Worked like a charm
From THOMAS SPOOR of ALTAMONT, New York on .
A snapping turtle found its way into my fish pond and decimated practically all of my plants. He was a wary son of a gun and despite my best efforts of trying to net him, I was unsuccessful.
But within less than 24 hours after setting my new trap, I had him. I baited the trap with a piece of cube steak. It worked like a charm. The 10 pounder was released in a lake a couple of miles away and I would assume is doing well.
turtle trap limits
From Mack Martin of Atlanta, Georgia on .
This trap seems to work well but allows all size turtles to enter and be trapped. I had hoped that an access door was provided to allow only large turtles into the cage. Capturing baby turtles in not needed.
