TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

This tool is a must have product if you have any seaming to do in your installation. When you are tring to abutt two pieces of carpet for seaming, slight adjustments will be need to properly allign the edges. A carpet stretcher allows the installer to place the adjustable pins into the carpet's surface for a good grip, then using your knee to hit the rear foam pad which will transfer your forward energy to the carpet causing it to move ever so slightly.
Do not use a carpet stretcher on a synthetic putting green surface if you have already cut out the hole or you may move the surface out of allignment with the cut hole. RULE OF THUMB: Always cut your holes last to eliminate this problem!

TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

We use this roller as our primary way to make maximum contact between the carpet's backing, adhesive, & the seam tape/binder material.
The spiked wheel roller is used after a few minutes to apply pinpoint pressure and then fluff the nap (fibers) to hide the seam.

TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

We pour the adhesive on top of the clean, dry 12" wide seam tape and use these trowels to evenly spread the adhesive around.
The 1/8" V notches allow just the right amount of adhesive for proper bonding. The 1/16" tip size lets us move excess adhesive to a dry part of the seam tape.
TJB-INC does not clean or re-use our trowels after a senthetic putting green or turf installation. Because the price point of these trowels is so low, it is more cost effective to throw it away than to spend time & labor cleaning them.

TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

We use this extra wide spiked wheel roller for seam hiding after abutting the seams together and rolling with the solid wheel roller. Allow the adhesive to set up a little first so you can make directed pinpoint contact with the spiked wheel.
Press down hard and move the roller in a forward and backward motion to maximize adhesive transfer into carpet backing.
Use a side to side motion to "fluff" the surface fibers. This will help to hide the seam.

TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

We use this tool to quickly cut the synthetic putting green / turf's edges.
TJB-INC sets the blade position to cut from the bottom instead of from the top. We have found this way does less damage to the surface fibers.
Use a forward motion only when cutting the carpet.
This tool will allow you to cut your custom edge contures with out having to lift up the carpet and cut from the back like you would with a carpet knife.

TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

When using a carpet knife, make sure to change you blade often. Sharp blades are a time saver as well as making a very clean cut.
Once your blade starts to snag the carpets backing or more effort is required to cut, it is time to flip or change the blade on the knife.
TJB-INC uses a black permanent marker to put a mark on the "dull" side when we flip the blade to use the other side. It is difficult to see a "dull" edge. What may be sharp enough for cardboard or paper, is not necessarilly sharp enough for urethane backed carpets.

TJB-INC INSTALLATION TIPS:

When initially trimming the turf around or near obstructions, fold back the turf to expose the backing and trim the edges so that an inch or so of excess remains on or against the obstruction. You will come back later with either the Carpet Knife or the Duckbill Shears to make the final cuts.
Use a vertical sawing motion using the inside of the cup as a guide when cutting holes for golf cups. Make sure your knife is sharp or you will leave rough edges that will have to be touched up.
If you use this knife for trimming small pieces in the cup hole, use a pair of needle-nosed pliers to hold the rough edge that is being trimmed off. If you use your fingers and the knife slips, your hand will look like the gross picture above. Please be smart & safe! We want you to come back and purchase from us again!

Note: Now that I have your attention ... No fingers were actually hurt in the making of this product description. What you are looking at is a very good FX re-creation, but it could have been real so be carful. The finger is really bent underneith and stage make-up was added to the big knuckel. 8" Duckbill Napping Shears

An indispensable tool for your spotting kit is a pair of professional duckbill shears which allow you to not only remove irreversibly stained or damaged fiber tips but also to break up hardened tar and chewing gum for easier removal.

These shears feature offset handles, which makes level nap trimming easy.
